DOLFYT Privacy Policy

DOLFYT ("we," "our," or "the app") is a mobile app that lets you scan products to see ingredients, nutrition, and pricing information, compare cashback offers, and manage a shopping list. This page explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and what happens to it.

Information We Access

DOLFYT requests access to the following device features, only when you actively use the related function:

• Camera — used when you scan a barcode, photograph a receipt, or photograph a product label. For barcode scans, only the decoded barcode number is used to look up product information — the camera image itself is not saved or transmitted. Receipt and label photos you take are processed on your device and are not uploaded to any DOLFYT server in the current version of the app.
• Location — used to estimate your distance to nearby stores for price and cashback comparison features. Your location is processed on your device to calculate these distances and is not stored on or transmitted to any DOLFYT server.

Information Stored On Your Device

Your shopping list and recently scanned products are stored locally on your own device using standard device storage. This information is not uploaded to us, is not accessible to us, and stays on your device unless you delete it yourself within the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

DOLFYT does not currently require creating an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any payment information. We do not sell your information to anyone, because we do not collect information that would be meaningful to sell.

Third-Party Services

When you scan a barcode, DOLFYT sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts, a free, nonprofit, open database, to retrieve ingredient and nutrition information for that product. No other information about you is sent along with that request. Open Food Facts' own privacy practices are described at world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy.

Children's Privacy

DOLFYT is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

As DOLFYT adds features — such as user accounts, advertising, or cloud-based data sync — this policy will be updated to accurately describe what data is collected and how it's used at that time. Any changes will be posted on this page along with a new effective date.
